MASTERS SEEK SOLUTIONS FOR SOUTH LUNDA PROBLEMS

The students of the Master’s course in Sustainable Development and Environment of the Polytechnic School of Lunda Sul, at Lueji A’Nkonde University, stated that they will produce reports with solutions to the various problems that affect the province of Lunda Sul to be submitted to competent institutions for materialization.

The pronouncements were delivered yesterday, May 16, at the end of a study visit to the Catoca Wastewater Treatment Station, aiming to reconcile theory and practice in the audit module.

Visibly pleased with the operation of the WWTP, the student Agostinho Camuamba suggests the “implementation of one or more wastewater treatment plants” for the local municipality in order to facilitate the treatment of all sewage and residues.

Her colleague Albertina Esperança expressed concern about the ravines that plague the province and augurs collaboration between the University and the local government to find plausible solutions to the stagnation of the province.

In his turn, the university professor Zacarias Iamba understands that the desansoreamento of the muanguês river is insufficient to solve the problem and suggests the deviation of the mouth with the chicapa river so that the sands do not pollute the water and perigue the operation of the hydroelectric dam of Chicapa “he said.

The teacher also made it known that the reports to be produced will be submitted to the ministries of guardianship for due treatment. He also acknowledged Catoca’s efforts to “develop the province through various social responsibility programs and contribute to solving problems of natural catastrophes such as ravines,” he said.
